Many of us have Christmas traditions that we have forged over the years with family and friends. Some people like to mosey around a traditional German Christmas market or others like to play silly games or to even go as far as venturing to Santa’s workshop in the North Pole. But if you are planning on spending the Christmas period in Marbella, why not adopt a new tradition… such as enjoying a magical Christmas lunch (or dinner) at Cascada Restaurant in Marbella.
Spanish Christmas traditions
The festive season in Spain starts with the Immaculate Conception in early December and goes all the way through to the Three Kings on 6th January, when children receive their gifts. In between there is “Nochebuena” (Christmas Eve) on the 24th, when families and friends traditionally gather to celebrate with a Christmas feast.
Cascada Christmas and New Year
If you are planning to eat out on Christmas Eve or considering where to spend a magical New Year’s Eve, Cascada’s chefs have created two unique 6-course dinner menus that will appeal the most decerning palette (priced at 120€ and 150€ per person respectively, plus an additional cost of 35€ for wine pairing and 55€ for premium wine pairing). Examples of the treats on offer, include oysters with champagne foam and pickled cucumber amuse bouches, veal sweatbread vol-au-vent, langoustine bisque and veal jus and a dainty chocolate and pistachio filo pastry. Don’t miss out, make your reservation today.
Corporate Christmas packages
Throughout the entire Christmas period Cascada is also taking booking for corporate Christmas lunches (and dinners). Diners can choose their favourite dish from the sophisticated three-course ‘Cimbarra’ menu, and also enjoy two glasses of wine and water, for 45€ per person. Make your reservation today.
What better way to kick off the festive season than to treat your staff or loved ones with a special Christmas dining experience in the rarefied surroundings of Cascada’s restaurant, luxuriating in a menu prepared by award-winning celebrity French chefs, creating an unforgettable dining experience in relaxed, warm and cosy surroundings.
Celebrity Chefs with sustainability at heart
Cascada’s exquisite menus are devised by celebrity chefs (and brothers), Jacques and Mathieu Lagarde (as seen on Top Chef) using only locally sourced fresh farm to table produce. Operating a zero-waste philosophy, this Top Chef team focus strongly on sustainability and endeavour to use every single part of an ingredient.
The Christmas and New Year menus have been created to appeal to gastronomes with an appreciation of the finest French cookery, offering the opportunity to indulge in their favourite classics, such as Beef Rossini, foie gras, truffle and parsley puree. Pescatarians can savour the freshness of John Dory with Tahitian vanilla beurre blanc, and many more mouth-watering delicacies.
A cosy retreat in Marbella
Nestled above Marbella town centre, surrounded by lush tropical gardens with a cascading waterfall. Cascada is a very special venue, and at its heart you’ll find the main restaurant, a cocktail lounge and an open plan kitchen. Every Friday and Saturday Night, diners can enjoy the dulcet tones of live Jazz, and at Christmas time and on chilly winters days, a large log fire is the star of the show, creating a beautiful cosy atmosphere that is impossible to resist.
Christmas lights
This year (2024), Cascada will be transformed for the festive season on 1st of December, this is also the date when Marbella (and the neighbouring town of San Pedro de Alcantara) will officially turn on the Christmas lights. The streets will be adorned with sparkling fairy lights, which seem to get better every year. The event has a lovely family atmosphere and signifies the start of Marbella’s Christmas season, with many people congregating in Plaza de los Naranjos and in the Old Town. If you can’t wait and don’t mind travelling a little further to Malaga city centre, you can see the award-winning light and sound shows which will be officially launched on 29th November.
Christmas markets in Marbella
In addition to the Satursday market in Puerto Banús (Nueva Andalucia), Christmas markets are held in Marbella’s Alameda Park and in the Plaza de los Naranjos. The most hotly anticipated market is the La Virginia Christmas market, selling a colourful variety of handmade crafts and delicious festive product, ideal for a last-minute gift.
